There is a decided schism between what I harvest growing in my garden and what is for sale on the store shelves. While coexisting in time, both realities proffer differing ways of being. This schism, is more then craft versus fine art. Its somewhere in the art - advertising (read corporate) divide. Where what we find, is two ways of seeing, that though comparable, the media tends to be the message.
Can culture be shrink wrapped? Or does that traverse the schism?
